Long-Standing Commitment Inspires Planned Gift

Trish and Bill AnenTrish and Bill Anen’s relationship with Rush Copley Medical Center spans nearly three decades, beginning when Trish joined the team as vice president of Human Resources and Clinical Services. She later served as chief nursing officer and was recently named chair of the Rush Copley Medical Center Board of Directors.

During her tenure, Trish played an instrumental role in the transition from downtown Aurora to the current location. She also helped roll out “The Promise,” which highlights the promise employees make to patients, families, guests, communities served by Rush Copley and one another. The initiative was recently adopted by Rush University System for Health. In 2015, Trish rejoined the leadership team as a board member.

“I was proud to see Copley’s regional growth and strong focus on quality, safety and patient and employee engagement as evidenced by multiple national awards, including Magnet with Distinction designation for nursing. But most of all, I was impressed by their continued commitment to The Promise,” she said.

As Copley patients, Bill and Trish note that they experience this commitment from every nurse, physician and team member they interact with — whether on the phone, in an office or in the hospital.

With appreciation for Rush Copley, Bill and Trish have included the medical center in their estate plan. Their gift will support nursing scholarships for staff as well as team members who exhibit “The Promise.”

“We are honored to be able to support the amazing work carried out each day at Rush Copley,” said Trish.
